Driving Directions

From Urich, take Highway 7 east 1.80 miles, then County Road NW 700 east 0.75 mile, then County Road NW 1101 north 1.25 miles.


This area consists of forest, old fields, cropland, and grassland. It has one permanent stream (Big Creek).

Bird Watching  Summer nesting and spring migrating song birds enjoy a variety of dense cover and small open fields. Field access roads open for walking provide good access to the area's interior. Get the Audubon Society of Missouri Conservation Area Bird List.  
Fishing - Catfish Good population. Catfishing in Big Creek can be good during times of rising water levels after significant rains. Access requires about a 0.25 mile walk.  
Fishing - Other Good population. Carp and other nongame fish can provide good fishing in Big Creek in the area's north east corner. Access requires about a 0.25 mile walk  
Hiking  No designated trails. Good hiking along area access trail. 
Hunting-Deer Good population. See regulations.  
Hunting-Quail Good population.  
Hunting-Rabbit Good population.
