Area access has been restricted due to the closure of Hwy 23 bridge at the Blackwater river. MODOT estimates November 1 for completion. Area users need to plan accordingly.Guier Pond and Guier Lake have been treated with Aquashade and an aquatic herbicide. Aquashade is a pond dye that is being used to control aquatic plant growth. Aquashade was applied to dye the water blue which will reduce sunlight penetration thereby, helping to prevent plant growth. Aquashade together with the herbicide should reduce the amount of nuisance aquatic vegetation, improving fishing for anglers.Due to recent flood events, the levee system between wetland Pool 6 and 7130 has been compromised.
