Shawnee Mac Lakes Conservation Area

Driving Directions

From Salem, take 10th Street, which becomes County Road 4110, east 2 miles to the area.


This area contains forest and grassland. Facilities/features: two boat ramps, primitive camping, picnic area, pavilion, a fishing jetty, and two fishable lakes (Ziske Lake, 30 acres; Turner Lake, 17 acres).

Canoeing  Mac Lake and Shawnee Lake

Fishing - Crappie Fair population.  
Fishing - Sunfish Good population.  
Hiking  There is a trail around each of the two lakes. The trail around Mac Lake is approximately 1.5 miles. It is a hard packed gravel trail The trail around Turner Lake is approximately 1.0 mile. It is all grass and is mowed once or twice a year.
