The Nixon Branch Tract portion of this CA is currently in the process of having tree harvesting and timber stand improvement (TSI) work done. Work is projected to be complete by the Spring Turkey Season.
The Nixon Branch Tract is nine miles north of Kahoka on Highway 81, then 1.50 miles west on an unnamed gravel road. The Bear Creek Tract is 3.50 miles south of Wyaconda on Route A, then 1.75 miles south on an unnamed gravel road.
This area is made up of several tracts of land, of which several are land-locked. Those accessible to the public include: Nixon Branch Tract and Bear Creek Tract. This area is largely forest. Facilities/features: primitive camping, Watershed Lake (35 acres), and intermittent stream (Shaffer Creek).
