The wetland pools on Fountain Grove Conservation Area will be dewatered so research can be conducted and data gathered during March. The information gathered will be beneficial to future wetland management of the area. Wildlife viewing and light goose hunting might be affected during this time period.
At Meadville, take Route W south 5 miles, then Blackhorn Drive south 0.75 mile to the area headquarters.
This area contains large wetlands and forest tracts in addition to cropland, grassland, and old fields. Facilities/features: boat ramps, picnic areas, and waterfowl blinds. In addition, there are three major bodies of water: Che-Ru Lake, Bittern Marsh, and Jo Shelby Lake. There are also three permanent streams: Grand River, Parsons Creek, and Locust Creek.

Portions of the area are open to statewide regulation. Other portions of the area are available for small game hunting beginning January 1.
