Preferred Habitat Occurs in reservoirs and pools of streams. Prefers cool water. Tolerates wide range of turbidity. In streams, prefer deep pools with boulders and logs scattered on bottom. Spawn on riffles or rocky wave-swept shores.
Distribution Found in large streams throughout Missouri. Largest populations in upper Mississippi R. and large streams and reservoirs of Ozarks *01*.
